Pick one or two details to echo from your ceremony gown, then let the reception look have a different silhouette. The two outfits will feel connected without making the second one look like a shortened copy.
Begin with the feature you care about most in the ceremony look. It might be the neckline, silk, an ivory palette, a corseted line or one accessory. Carry that feature into the reception outfit and change the rest. A floor-length dress with a corseted bodice could lead to a corset mini with a related neckline. A smooth silk gown could lead to silk separates. If the first outfit has a scarf, sleeve or lace detail, you can repeat that idea at a different scale.

Save front and back views of both outfits on one page. Circle the shared detail and write down what changes: length, neckline, sleeve, fabric, colour or separate pieces. If the connection needs a paragraph of explanation, choose a clearer one. Jewellery or shoes can repeat the idea without matching exactly.
