At Room 22, made to measure starts with one of our existing designs. Bespoke starts with your own idea and develops it from scratch. Bridal labels vary between ateliers, so look at the work included as well as the name.
When made to measure fits the idea
Choose made to measure when you already like a design on room22.eu and want it made to your measurements. Minor changes to length, corset shape and colour are included with our standard designs. You keep the recognisable design and agree those adjustments before it is made.
Save the exact design, then annotate the changes you want. A different colour or a small shift in length may stay within the standard route. A new silhouette or a combination built from several references may move into more complex custom work and can cost extra.
When to ask about bespoke
Choose the bespoke conversation when the outfit in your head doesn’t begin with an existing Room 22 design. Our published process includes discussing the concept, sketching the design, selecting fabrics together and creating the piece from scratch.
Before committing, ask what the proposal includes. Our public information doesn’t set out a fixed number of sketches, revisions or fittings, or promise a toile or unique pattern. Those details should be agreed for your project, along with the price.
Allow at least one month from start to finish for either route and confirm your date before ordering. The standard designs shown on the site have a 2–5 week lead time. An original bespoke piece follows an individually agreed schedule and may take longer.
